Today is the day after my youngest daughter's 5th birthday. We had a wonderful day, trying to give her a special day and delight in God's creative handiwork and think on what His vision for our daughter might be. Friends came over and my blog got a new makeover, thanks to my friend!
Now today we have to do laundry and get ready to pack for our trek to camp in Pennsylvania on Thursday and Friday. The children have been helping hang out laundry, and I admit that I knew there was a weak spot or two in at least one line. So I could not be too suprised when it gave out under the weight of the wet laundry.
I thought of Katie in Uganda, bending low to serve the people God has placed her near, and I just cheerfully took the laundry off the broken lines and we put it on the lines still left. My one son wanted to blame himself, but I told him it wasn't his fault. It was a sweet time, working together under the trees.
When my earthly supports snap under the weight of the world, let me just take my cares and problems to my heavenly Father, for Him to mend and dress! The world is looking for confident people, for people who know what to do and how to do it. Let me point them to my Lord Jesus Christ! If I have not pointed my children to my Saviour, then I have not done what God has given me to do! Let's show the world that our confidence cannot be in other people, but only in God. Please, Lord, let others see me lean on you and not on other people who cannot bear such weight. God is able, He is willing, let us bring our concerns and cares to Him who created us and loves us more than anyone else!
